Summary

Instructor for the new Northwest Career & Technical High School manufacturing career pathway program. After three quarters, the students in this pathway will be eligible for a certificate as a Machinist Helper.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Instruct high school students in introductory courses in the use of lathes and mills, blueprint reading, shop math, shop safety, and machines and tools
  2. Assure the students are gaining competencies in the skills mentioned above
  3. Teach students about workplace soft skills such as teamwork, reliability, and professionalism in this trade.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (must be met to be considered):
  1. Three to five years experience in the machinist trade
  2. Experience with manual lathes and mills
  3. Teaching experience at the high school, or college level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. College teaching certification
  2. Computer Numerical Control machines and understanding of G & M codes.
